During the aluminum smelting process, electrolyte bath conditions must be monitored constantly to achieve high productivity and prevent environmentally hazardous anode effects. The Thermo Scientific™ ARL™ 9900 Pot Flux X-ray Analyzer was specially developed for bath ratio monitoring. This solution includes an X-ray diffraction (XRD) system for analysis of typical bath phases and an X-ray fluorescence (XRF) channel to determine the total calcium content in bath samples. Together they provide reliable analysis with high reproducibility and sample throughput. Determination of graphite anode conductivity (Lc method) is also supported.
